Project “Empowering Roma communities of Mukachevo district in decision making at the local level”

Implementation period: June 2016 – May 2017

Project goal: To strengthen the capacity of members of initiative groups in Romani settlements in Mukachevo district (Barkasovo, Bolshie Lucky, Pavshino, Strabichevo, Chomonin), who intend to run their Romani settlements to a qualitatively new level, through the creation of the Roma Self-governance Body (- further RSGB) in their settlements and require additional knowledge, information, expertise and legal assistance in the creation, development and good governance of the Roma Self-governance Body.

Project “Creation of the complex system of providing free legal aid in Transcarpathian region”

Implementation period: January 2016 – December 2016

Project goal: Creation of the complex system of providing free primary and secondary legal aid in Transcarpathian region due to guarantee highly qualified protection of constitutional rights and interests of the dwellers of the local communities in the Transcarpathian region, especially of the poor and socially vulnerable population strata, including the representatives of the national minorities , who cannot afford paid legal aid because of their financial standing.

Donor: The project is implemented with the assistance of the Project «Free quality legal aid in Ukraine», which has been introduced by Canadian Bureau for International Education with the assistance of the Canadian Government and Program initiative “Human Rights and Justice” of the International Renaissance Foundation.

Project: “Furtherance of the principle of indiscrimination concerning the Roma national minority among the representatives of the governmental and local authorities”

Implementation period: July 2015 – November 2015

Project goal: Turning public attention to the problem of representatives of the Roma national minority not having personal documents. Empowerment towards governmental and local authorities concerning lessening discrimination of the Roma national minority.

Donor: In terms of the project “Reaching equality: common approach for improvement of equality and indiscrimination”, being implemented by the project “No borders”/Social action center with the assistance of the European Commission and International Renaissance Foundation.

Project: “Public advocacy campaign for abolishment of the legislation discrepancy in issuance of the personal documents to the representatives of the Roma national minority”

Implementation period: August 2015 – December 2015

Project goal: Holding a public advocacy campaign to mediate differences among legislative, judicative and executive branches concerning issuance of the personal documents to the representatives of the Roma national minority in Ukraine, who cannot obtain their passports and birth certificates on their own.

Donor: European Roma Rights Centre (Budapest, Hungary).

Project: “Holding an advocacy campaign to further the Roma self-government in Transcarpathian region”

Implementation period: July 2015 – November 2015

Project goal: Empowerment of the Roma organizations, Roma leaders and activists in issues of preparing and holding advocacy campaigns aimed at the development of the Roma self-government in the Transcarpathian region. Furthering constructive cooperation among the representatives of the local authorities and Roma organizations, Roma leaders and activists in the Transcarpathian region.

Project “Furtherance of the stable progress of the Roma community”

Implementation period: August 2015 – January 2016

Project goal: Furthering cooperation between the representatives of the Roma community and local authorities and self-government bodies aimed at developing and implementing common initiatives concerning stable development of the Roma community in Mukachevo. Furthering constructive dialogue and social activity inside the Roma community.

Holding a research on topic: “ Determination of the legal status and rights protection mechanisms for the representatives of the Roma national minority, who have the status of “stateless” people”

Implementation period: March – December 2015

Project goal: Holding a comparative analysis and elaborating legal recommendations aimed at the improvement of the national legislation and state policy of Ukraine concerning legalization and issuance of the personal documents to the representatives of the Roma national minority, who have the status of “stateless” people”.

Project: “Public monitoring of the Action Plan of the Strategy of protection and integration into the Ukrainian society of the Roma national minority in period before 2020”

Implementation period: October 2014 – January 2015

Project goal: Holding an independent public monitoring of the work of the local self-government bodies in the Transcarpathian and Volyn regions concerning the implementation of the Action Plan of the National Strategy of protection and integration into the Ukrainian society of the Roma national minority in period before 2020. Detecting lacks elaborating recommendations aimed at the improvement of the Action Plan for improvement of the national policy concerning Roma.

Implementation period: February 2014 – February 2015

Project goal: Holding a campaign of public lobbying of the interests of the Roma communities in Mukachevo and Svaliava concerning the creation of the Roma self-government bodies.

Project: “Improvement of the awareness level of the representatives of the governmental institutions in the sphere of the discrimination protection for citizens”

Implementation period: January 2014 – June 2014

Project goal: Improvement of the awareness level of the representatives of the local and regional authorities, law-enforcement authorities in the sphere of the human rights protection and anti-discrimination policy, furthering the culture of tolerance and counteraction against xenophobia in their work.

Project “Development of the stable system of providing primary legal aid to the people in Mukachevo”

Implementation period: February 2014 – January 2015

Project goal: Creation of the local target program of providing primary legal aid to the people in Mukachevo. Guaranteeing the provision of the qualified protection of the constitutional rights and representation of the interests of the poor and socially vulnerable population strata, who cannot afford paid legal aid because of their financial standing.

Project “Empowerment of the community against domestic violence”

Implementation period: November 2012 – September 2013

Project goal: Empowering public organizations against against domestic violence by means of free legal aid in the town Kovel and the Kovel district of the Volyn region, town Bila Tsrkva of the Kyiv region, Mukachevo city of the Transcarpathian region to the victims of the domestic violence. Implementing educational and preliminary measures, supporting changes on the national level and elaborating recommendations for the interior agencies concerning effective reaction on the cases of the domestic violence.
